Test taking is a skill that we use throughout our schooling. Many professions require similar tests, so this is valuable experience. My most recent standardized test for an additional certification was in 2006. My husband had to take a standardized test to become a real estate agent. Other careers that involve similar tests are: firefighters, accountants, engineers, architechts, doctors, nurses, just to name a few. Below you will find some helpful links to practice those test taking strategies we have discussed. Remember to read each section carefully. You will be looking for main ideas in both the passage and the question. Take your time, as the Dakota STEP is not timed. This is all information you know. Relax and do your best!

Go to **http://sbac.portal.airast.org/practice-test/**
At the bottom of the webpage, click the square button “Student Interface Practice Tests”
Then click on sign in…. leave everything as is, it should say Guest
· Select the Grade Level you want
· Select the Test Type
· Scan through the Settings, changing what you need to then click Start The Test
